Sowing & Growing Alliums!
Mid-February to late March is the perfect time to sow alliums including onion, leek and shallot seed. If you have great light (a full-spectrum LED grow light is ideal), feel free to start early. If you have just a south-facing window, wait til mid-March so your seedlings will be less stressed.
And note, chives and scallions are part of the allium family but they’re much healthier and more productive when started in mid/late April.
