Friends, rather than selling and shipping seeds, we now share seeds as an embodied gift practice. Learn how to receive seeds from us & here are our FAQs.
This cockscomb-style celosia is like vivid red velvet with bright burgundy leaves that wow us all summer. Her long, strong 16+ inch stems are ideal for both fresh and dry arrangements. Like so many flowers, the more you harvest, the more you’ll continue to harvest. The first flush of Red Flame is the largest, often dwarfing our hands; her heads gradually getting smaller with each successive harvest. From boutonnieres and garlic braids to autumn wreaths and winter bouquets, we can’t wait to see how you weave celosia into all season!
When to seed: ~4 weeks before final frost frost sow indoors in soil blocks for transplanting, misting or bottom watering to avoid displaced seed — transplant after danger of frost has passed
Seed Depth: 1/8 inch (light needed for germination)
Full Sun/Part Shade Days to Germination: 7-14 at 60-75ºF
Plant spacing after thinning: 12 inches
Days to Flower: 95-100 Height: 24-30 inches
Harvest: for bouquets, harvest celosia at peak blossom. For straight stems in dry arrangements, hang celosia upside down to dry for two weeks.

Loved these! They were a brilliant red and bloomed absolutely all summer long.
Many, many neighbors stopped to ask what they were, or to touch them. (They are so fuzzy and soft!)
