Hooray! By mid/late March, we’re starting our onions, leeks and seeded shallots here at Fruition Seeds in Zone 5. Anytime through mid-April is ideal to start your onions and shallots; leeks are not day-length sensitive in the same way, so we sow them through early August.
If snows melt and the soil is dry enough, we may sow some seeds directly in the ground! From peas to cilantro, spinach to radish, peek below at the earliest seeds we sow in April once the soil can be worked!
