Friends, rather than selling and shipping seeds, we now share seeds as an embodied gift practice. Learn how to receive seeds from us & here are our FAQs.
Earthy and sweet with delectable roots as well as greens, beets are one of Fruition Seeds’ favorite vegetables in any season. From classic red to golden and candy-stripe beets, all beets (and root vegetables, in general) prefer to grow where they are planted -- which can be fabulous tucked into containers or not. Beets grow best sown directly in the soil anytime early spring through late summer. We sow beets every three weeks for consistent harvest throughout the seasons.
Fun fact! Beet seeds often have 3 to 5 'seeds' inside, so thinning is critical for healthy, abundant roots. This is true for chard as well, since they share the same genus/species, Beta vulgaris. The good news: these thinnings are also delicious!
