Friends, we’re so honored to share seeds as gifts with you!
Explore our many upcoming seed gifting gatherings on our events page!

And Friends, seeds are not ours to give or yours to receive: they are ours to share…
…and perhaps they belong most of all with our great great great grandchildren to come
In this spirit, we invite you to practice giving and receiving seeds differently than you’ve ever experienced before. As we (un)learn mindsets of scarcity and receive the extraordinary abundance of seeds, we invite you to join our beautiful, reflective, joyful and transformative 2+ hour experience where we will laugh, play, practice the hard work of receiving beyond transaction and perhaps even shed a tear or two.

FAQs
for The Gift of Seed:
~ Can I drop in for just part of the gathering? Think of this as a movie or theater experience: come a few minutes early, settle in & savor ‘til the end, it’s sooooo worth it!
~ Is it free? In a word, yes! Far from ‘valueless,’ all our offerings are gifts and thus ‘free’ in the spirit of Fannie Lou Hamer: “None of us are free until all of us are free.” Bring a friend or two!
Gifts are not free: they embody the responsibility to offer gratitude and keep the gift moving.
~ Is this family friendly? These particular gatherings are designed for adults, though young people who have a wide capacity to listen and go with more ‘adult’ flows are abundantly welcome. Many babes in arms have joined these gatherings, so please consider this an open invitation, as well 🧡

Here are a few words of
What People are Saying:
From Taylor:
“BE OPEN . . .
for something wonderful to happen. Be open to the possibility.”
The week before last, I had the pleasure of attending a gathering led by Petra from Fruition Seeds. Throughout the experience, Petra echoed the song “Be Open” by Debbie Nargi-Brown (lyrics quoted above).
The entire event embodied the spirit of these simple lyrics, and changed the way I’ve been moving through the world ever since. Because for the first time in a long time, I was in a room packed with community members and entirely rooted in trust, reciprocity, and care.
By the end of the evening, I could quite literally feel the the love emanating from each person’s body, vibrating through the air, and infiltrating the thousands of seed packets in our presence, soon to be making their way across the northeast to be generously shared with anyone that shows up to collect them. Petra showed us the power of radical vision, and invited us to be a part of it.
From what I saw and experienced through Petra’s event, amidst the grief of letting go and the inevitable challenges that come from change, there was so much beauty, so much bounty, and such a profound energetic ripple in the unfolding of this embodied gift practice. I am still in awe of the gift of physical seeds, but the metaphorical seeds planted among us that day continue to yield something just as nourishing: possibility, hope, and vision. The reality that something might be harder and can ultimately be better.
This will be the first of many reflections of that evening over the years, as I carry it with me, reflect back, and tap into that palpable energy memory to influence how we move forward in this world.

Across each seed gift gathering, we’re going to practice giving and receiving:
⭐️ as people not needing to ‘earn’ to be ‘worthy’
⭐️ as people who trust ourselves as we remember each other
⭐️ as people who sow gardens for so much more than ourselves
⭐️ as people who imagine and practice cultures of care beyond consumption

We’ve such deep gratitude to everyone sharing such meaningful reflections in voice, in writing and in spirit; we love and are humbled by your words, Sarah:
“I’ve had a little over a week to try to gather some words to describe this life-changing experience; it’s truly a challenge to transform the energy of this magical gathering into words:
Each moment was an invitation to consider the interconnectedness of all beings in a playful and intuitive way, bringing to fruition the truth that our gifts all have an incredible impact.
Even had I left without seeds, I truly felt like I had everything I needed.
What an invitation to know my gifts and relate to them fully, so that I can share them without hesitation with the rest of the world!”

For Those Yet to Come
At these gatherings, we’ll also pack seeds for ‘strangers’ because — have you received seeds packed and sealed by someone you didn’t know? Who resisted the urge to hoard seeds for themselves, who believed in the collective abundance of tomorrow?
Suddenly, there you were, receiving a packet of seeds: the generosity of a ‘stranger.’
Let’s become such ‘strangers’ packing seeds for our fellow ‘strangers’ as we together learn to
trust
abundance
shared.
And ohhhh, if you’re curious, you’ll receive the gift of so many seeds! We’ve been wondering for months how to share 300+ varieties in ways that neither emulate a ‘market’ nor a ‘free’ table, and Friends, come practice giving and receiving beyond lifetimes and ledgers with us, we’ve only just begun and ohhhhhh it’s delicious:

And Friends,
thank you:
We know receiving our seeds as gifts
may be less convenient than when we sold them,
so let’s cultivate belonging and generosity together,
nourishing us all beyond calories
and convenience.

Thanks for trusting us to grow and ohhhhh let’s grow together💛
