So easy to grow and lusciously abundant, we love this sumptuous blend of apricot, rose and yellow peach blooms on long, strong stems. Originally from famed Texas flower farmers Pamela and Frank Arnosky, Summer Sherbet is fabulous for fresh (2+ week vase life!) as well as dry bouquets. From boutonnieres and garlic braids to autumn wreaths and winter bouquets, we’d love to see how you weave Texas Plume Summer Sherbet celosia into all the seasons!
For bouquets, harvest celosia at peak blossom. For straight stems in dry arrangements, hang celosia upside down to dry for two weeks.
When to seed: ~4 weeks before final frost frost sow indoors in soil blocks for transplanting (recommended), misting or bottom watering to avoid displaced seed –harden off and transplant after danger of frost has passed.
Seed Depth: 1/8 inch (light needed for germination)
Full Sun/Part Shade Days to Germination: 8-12 at 60-75ºF
Plant spacing after thinning: 12-18 inches
Days to Flower: 80-90 Height: 3- 4 feet
