Simply extraordinary! We love these vivid dahlia-like blooms, each one 4 to 6 inches across on a long, strong stem perfect for cutting. Benary’s Wine has an incredibly long vase life, often lasting 3 weeks or more before even a hint of fading. Her vigorous 4-foot plants hold up well in both heat and rain and we also appreciate her intermediate resistance to Powdery Mildew. Like any flower, the more you harvest the more flowers there are to harvest but Benary’s Wine is a hedgerow of color even if you don’t dead-head religiously. It simply isn’t summer without her.
Transplant (recommended): Sow indoors 4 weeks before last frost, keeping soil surface moist until emergence. At Fruition we sow in soil blocks, and a heat mat will help maintain an accurate temperature. If not using a heat mat, transplant into larger containers when seedlings have true leaves (avoid plants becoming root bound).
