2' tall 55 days to harvest Nigella damascena

Easy to grow and utterly etheric, nigella’s exquisite fern-like foliage and extraordinary flowers are captivating in bouquets as well as their breath-taking seed pods. Nigella is short, often under 2 feet, thriving in gardens as well as raised beds and containers, even with partial sun.

Subtle at first, Persian Jewels explode into the most exquisitely intricate blossoms of mesmerizing indigo, lilac, mauve & cream. And as her petals fall away, seed heads form with wild spires, lime green and burgundy with feathery plumes of foliage, effortlessly elegant. Persian Jewels makes an extraordinary cut flower both fresh and dry. Her remarkable seedpod turns from burgundy/green to burgundy/gold as she dries, holding her color for years to come.
