HEIRLOOM Deliciously fragrant, hardy & abundant, Anise Hyssop attracts beneficial pollinators like few other flowers we’ve ever witnessed. Anise hyssop is medicinal as well as perennial, 2-4′ feet high depending on light and fertility. Hyssop thrives in gardens, raised beds and containers in both full and partial sun, though the more sun they basks in, the more they blossom. We enjoy their leaves in tea and cough syrup, savoring their seeds in shortbread. We’re endlessly thankful for Sean Dembrosky of Edible Acres in Trumansburg, NY who shared this seed with us in 2012.
Organic Anise Hyssop
When to sow: For transplanting (recommended) sow 4 weeks before last frost indoors, 2 seeds/cell thinned to 1. Transplant seedlings at any stage after frost.
To direct sow, sow 1 seed per inch in either spring or fall.
Full/Part Sun Seed Depth: 1/8 inch
Days to Germination: 6-10 at 75-60 ºF
Plant spacing after thinning: 6-12″ apart in rows 24-36″ apart.
Days to Harvest: 75-80 Height: 3 feet
