Had we but one bean to eat all summer, this surely is the one. Exceptionally tender, stringless and nutty-sweet, Tavera Bush Filet Bean is simply luscious. (This style bean is especially popular in France where it has been selected for centuries, known fondly as French Filet or ‘haricot vert.’)
Beyond simply delectable, Tavera is a very compact and high-yielding variety as well as resistant to Anthracnose and Bean Common Mosaic Virus. Truly, she’s exceptional.
We offer two green bush snap beans, Provider and Tavera, because they serve unique functions in our garden. If you want to pickle and preserve, Provider’s all-at-once abundance makes it easy — it’s the perfect bean to feed you through the winter. We plant Provider first (mid-May) because it grows in cooler soils so we eat Provider first — but when Tavera (planted late May/early June) is on our plates two to three weeks later there is no looking back.
Every year we’re blown away by Tavera’s exquisite flavor and delicate texture. Who knew there was so much diversity in green beans? We grow them all and love to share them all with you.

These beans have amazing flavor straight from the garden raw, cooked in soup, steamed, or sautéed up! They put out beans over and over again and despite being a bush bean, I had multiple harvests! I was picking delicious beans until I pulled them out in late September!!!!
