65 days to harvest Solanum melongena

HEIRLOOM Earlier and often more abundant than classic Italian bells, we adore these slender, flavorful eggplant abounding on stunning purple-stemmed plants. We love Ping Tung Long Eggplant whole or halved on the grill as well as broiled in the oven, dipped in a fresh peanut sauce and sprinkled with cilantro! Pickled eggplant is delicious as well and young Ping Tung Long are the perfect size and firmness to tuck in quart jars.

When to sow:  Sow indoors, 6-8 weeks before final frost

Sowing and seedling care: We recommend sowing in soil blocks and on heat matsGood light is essential: Younger, less stressed seedlings are healthier and more abundant than older, more stressed seedlings. Increase pot size as they grow. Eggplants are heavy feeders, so nourish them with nutrient-dense soil as well as fish and kelp emulsion for an abundant harvest.
