Ready for summer heat if you are!
Here, Friends, are our favorite bolt-resistant summer lettuces of all shapes and colors, perfect to direct sow for baby greens & transplant for full heads in the heat of summer. These delectable lettuces will thrive in gardens as well as containers, in full as well as part sun. We hope you enjoy Fruition’s Summer Lettuce Blend as much as we do!
Planting Method: Direct Sow or Transplant
To Direct Sow: As soon as soil can be worked, can be sown thru til 6 weeks before first frost in fall, every three weeks for continual harvest . Sow seeds 1 inch apart in rows 12″ apart. Enjoy thinnings and leave 12″ between plants. We love to sow baby salad greens around young tomatoes and other long-season crops that are initially small, harvesting greens for the first ~6 weeks before the tomato is huge.
For Transplanting (full size only): Indoors, sow 2 seeds/cell early spring & thin to 1. Harden off & transplant around last frost. Succession sow every 3 weeks until early fall.
Seed Depth: 1/8 inch Sun Needs: Full/Part
Days to Germination: 3 at 75°F (21°C); 8 at 60°F (13°C)
Spacing (after thinning/transplanting): 10-12 inches for full heads; rows 12 inches apart
Ample water grows sweetest lettuce!
Days to Harvest: 8 days to microgreen; 25 baby leaf; 50 full size
Harvest: Water before harvest above apical buds for quick, sweet re-growth.

Loved this mix. Easy to germinate and grow. Held up well during temperature swings in Central Ohio (grow zone 6a). Will grow again!
