70 days to harvest Pisum sativum

HEIRLOOM Giant Swiss Snow Pea is, by far, our favorite snow pea, her lime green pods are simply massive with extraordinarily sweet succulence. Giant Swiss is also vigorous: “There is no trellis in the world tall enough!” exclaimed Roger B. Swain in 2015, so be prepared to trellis their 5+ foot vines well. Their elegant purple flowers turn into cascades of huge, delicious pods that produce for several weeks.

“Organic Giant Swiss Snow Pea” truly is as tasty and large as Fruition promises. And its blooms are really beautiful.

Direct Seed Only: As soon as soil may be worked, sow 1-1.5” apart, 1” deep & do not thin. Full size peas require a strong trellis; it’s often easiest installed as soon after planting as possible. Pick frequently for greater harvests. Midsummer pickings are not as prolific as earlier harvests. Full size not ideal for containers or fall plantings.

Sowing Date: Early Spring & late Summer
Seed Depth: 1 inch
Days to Germination: 5-12
Days to Maturity: 70
Plant spacing after thinning: 1-1.5 inches
Height: 6 feet
